highveld versatile hunting dog club

 HVHDC - Gauteng, Mpumulanga, FS

The Highveld Versatile Hunting Dog Club was founded in early 2021 to organise, host and promote Versatile testing and training in the Gauteng region under the KUSA banner.

A key goal of the Highveld Versatile Hunting Dog Club (HVHDC) is to advance the training, breeding, well being, care, general usefulness, and working quality of the versatile hunting dog breeds and to promote their versatility and ethical hunting performance.

The Versatile Hunting Dog is a dog that is bred and trained to dependably hunt and point game, to retrieve on both land and water, and to track wounded game on both land and water.

In South Africa, the most common versatile hunting (HPR) breeds are the German Shorthaired Pointers (GSP and Kurzhaar), German Wirehaired Pointers (GWP and Drahthaar), Vizslas, Weimaraners, Pointers, Setters and Spinone.

We invite you to explore our website and read more about us, our mission, testing, training and how to become involved.
